Dr. Sheila Stevens is an independent medical device consultant based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the past 20 years she has worked in the areas of Research and Development, Professional Education, and Clinical/Regulatory Affairs for companies such as Fortimedix, BioInspire, GoogleX, ClearFlow, Medigus, BaroSense, Apneon, Kyphon and Bausch and Lomb. She has worked on R&D design teams, trained sales staff and surgeons, obtained international regulatory approvals and run clinical studies in the US, Europe, Israel and Argentina for investigative medical devices. She and her husband of 23 years, Russ, are avid bicyclists and enjoy spending any free time at the ‘tiny house’ getaway they built in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Dr. Stevens holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa and an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. She was a 1987 NYSCamp delegate from the state of Iowa and served on “Staph”* in 1989, 1990 and 2004.
