Ms. Emily Holmes is originally from Columbus, Indiana and was an Indiana delegate in 1993. She received her undergraduate degree in art and art history from Duke University and her Masters in Human Factors / Information Design from Bentley University.
After college, Ms. Holmes started out as an exhibit designer at a children’s science museum. She developed a passion for designing experiences that help K-12 students learn and explore, and is excited to be working toward that same goal now as the Director of User Experience for the Hobsons K-12 Discovery Lab. As she has shifted her focus to the web over the past decade, her professional interests have continued to focus on information design, information architecture, K-12 education and problem solving through design.
Ms. Holmes loves reading, music and kayaking. She can play guitar, sing and juggle fire. She also makes a mean stained glass window.
